EDspaces Conference are exciting and insightful gathering of facility planning, maintenance and construction leaders in the education market. Taking center stage was the “ENGAGE” exhibition, made possible through the collaboration between Susan Gladden Interiors, a highly-experienced commercial interior design firm, and School Specialty. This ENGAGE showcase demonstrated what a true 21st century, collaborative learning environment looks like.
The exhibit attracted numerous attendees who were intrigued by the innovative space which incorporates elements of nature and engages all five senses for increased student creativity, focus and memory. The learning environment is grounded by a spiral-shaped herb garden with low, soft seating that encourages community. A variety of flexible furniture options radiate from its center, supporting individual, small, or large group learning. Technology is used to enhance rather than overpower learning, encouraging the teacher to move freely and engage with students throughout the classroom.
As a key collaborator with Susan Gladden Interiors, School Specialty’s mobile and technology-enabled furniture solutions are utilized to support various teaching and learning styles, as well as promote a comfortable and secure setting. The ENGAGE model takes into careful consideration that students are as complex and unique as they are diverse. It is designed and equipped to prepare the individual and learner with the skills they require for a successful future.
We look forward to many more opportunities to demonstrate the tremendous advancements and benefits that learning spaces such as ENGAGE bring to the world of education. School Specialty remains committed to working more closely with the Susan Gladden team to deliver the necessary capabilities to classrooms so that every student can reach his or her potential!
